Biography

 

Amir Esmailpour is currently a Post Doctoral Fellow (PDF), in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), University of Toronto, in Toronto, Canada. Amir did his PhD at the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science in the University of Guelph, Guelph, Canada. He previously received his Masters and Bachelor degrees from Ryerson University and the University of Ottawa in Canada.
Amir worked at Nortel Networks as a Software Engineer and Daimler Chrysler as a Network Engineer for seven years, and the returned to pursue academic studies and research. His area of research is in Routing for Wireless Mesh Networks and Quality of Service (QoS) for the IEEE 802.16 standard and WiMAX. He is presently working on Radio Resource Management and QoS support for the 4G wireless networks, and teaching networking and wireless courses in Toronto.

Amir is nominated for the 2011 Forster Medal to represent the Faculty of Engineering and Science at the University level. (Forster Medal is the highest award in the University of Guelph for graduate students, which recognizes academic achievement, motivation, leadership and citizenship).
